The Puppy Process

Visiting puppies

We do not allow visitors to visit the puppies until they are 5.5 weeks old. An appointment is required to view a litter. We ask that you do not visit any other facilities, pet stores, or feed stores before you arrive at our home. This helps reduce the risk of transmitting viruses to the young puppies. When you arrive, you will be asked to disinfect your shoes before entry. Children are welcome to meet the puppies; we just ask that you keep a close eye on them. Please do not bring your current pets to visit our puppies at any time.

Deposit

A $500 non-refundable deposit with a signed deposit contract is required to secure your puppy. We accept cash, Zelle or Venmo; checks are accepted for the deposit only.

Puppy pick

Once you place your deposit, you will be assigned a puppy pick for your sex and color. Picks are first come, first served, from when we receive your executed contract and deposit.

Selecting your puppy

Puppy selection happens at 6 to 7 weeks. When you arrive, we’ll take you into our exercise yard with the available puppies. You’ll have about 45 minutes to an hour to play with them and choose the best fit for your family.

Going home

Puppies will not leave before 8 weeks of age. Meeting and pickup is in Buckeye, AZ or another arranged place. Please allow 45 minutes to an hour at pickup to complete paperwork and ask any questions. Your puppy goes home with a starter kit: a bone, a chew toy, and a blanket that smells like its littermates.

All parents are health tested, and every puppy comes with a health guarantee.

Puppy food

Puppies go home eating Life’s Abundance All Stages food. Please order at least one 20 lb bag a week before your puppy goes home. Shipping costs the same for any bag size, so a larger bag saves on future shipping.

NuVet vitamins

NuVet Plus K9 wafers help your puppy absorb nutrients from food and respond to vaccinations. As part of our contract, all puppies must be on this vitamin for their first two years to support proper growth and bone development. Order code: 64659. Order vitamins

Kennel

This is the kennel we use on our farm and recommend for kennel training. Most dogs need a 42" kennel; some need a 48". Kennel on Amazon

Vaccinations

Before going home, your puppy will have received a Neo-Par shot to help jumpstart its ability to fight off parvo, plus a 5-way vaccination. At home, your puppy will need a 5-way vaccine at 11, 14 and 17 weeks. At 20 weeks we recommend another 5-way, and a rabies vaccine is required.

Spay/neuter

Research has linked early spay/neuter to hip dysplasia, ligament tears and bladder weakness. Based on this research, we require that you not spay or neuter your puppy until after 18 months of age.

Lifetime microchip registration

All puppies leave our farm microchipped; we do not let any puppy leave without one. Lifetime registration is $50. You’ll receive a microchip certificate so you can create your own account and update your information for the life of your dog.
